You might have wondered what materials are used in a Casper mattress and where they are made. You’ve come to the right place! Get the scoop on where Casper mattresses are made and what materials the company uses to create the company’s most popular mattress below.
Casper mattresses are designed in California, and the company sources products from a variety of suppliers in the US and beyond. However, most of the foam for their mattresses is sourced from suppliers in Georgia and Pennsylvania. As of 2020 when the company was preparing to go public, Casper Sleep (also known as Casper) was dependent upon US manufacturers to actually manufacture the beds. When the company first launched, it hired Atlanta-based manufacturer Elite Foam to make the beds, and later added a firm based in Boston to increase production. However, the company was taken private at the beginning of 2022 after being acquired by the private equity firm, Durational Capital Management. This will likely bring change to the company’s manufacturing procedures.
Most of the company’s supply is reportedly made in America, with fabrics, materials and more coming from different companies. However, the company sells products in addition to mattresses, and some of these products are sourced in locations such as Canada, Mexico and the UK. The products are shipped from facilities in Ontario and British Columbia.
When it comes to materials and construction, Casper says of its top-of-the-line bed:
“The Wave Hybrid mattress is made of perforated breathable (Polyurethane) foams that are CertiPUR® certified, resilient springs, and latex. It has our advanced ergonomic support system, Zoned SupportTM Max with gel pods, and a temperature regulation system AirScapeTM 3 with Polymer cooling gel.”
The design incorporates gel pods within the foam for added support in higher-pressure areas such as near the lower back and hips. This is said to provide additional alignment support for these areas of the body. In addition, the mattresses contain a cooling gel as an added temperature-regulating feature. It also contains a combination of springs and foam to create a structured level of support within the bed.
The Casper website describes each layer of the Wave Hybrid as the following:
- Top layer of breathable polyurethane foam
- Second layer of natural latex
- Third layer of zoned memory foam
- Fourth layer of polyurethane foam with gel pods
- Durable base of polyurethane foam with encased springs
These materials are said to be planet-friendly and made without harmful or ozone-depleting chemicals.
This is the company’s top-of-the-line mattress design. The Original Casper Mattress, which is all foam, is much simpler in its construction. It is made of three distinct layers: perforated top-layer foam, zoned memory foam and then a base of high-density polyfoam. The Sleep Foundation rated the firmness of this mattress as a 5 out of 10.
Comparing these materials to Beyosa
Beyosa mattresses are made with a proprietary combination of foam and pocket coils, designed to combine the most-loved features of a traditional mattress with the benefits of durable foam. The Beyosa mattress would be most comparable to the Original Casper Hybrid, but with additional features. Beyosa mattresses offer customization on both sides of the bed so that each partner can enjoy their preferred level of firmness without compromise.
Beyosa mattresses are hand-assembled according to your preferences at the manufacturing facility in Missouri. You can add cooling features to one or both sides of the bed for further customization.
Casper faces the challenge of relying on manufacturers to produce the beds on the company’s behalf. Beyosa builds every mattress in the Missouri-based factory, by hand, right next to the company office. This allows Beyosa to maintain oversight of every step of the process, helping ship your mattress more efficiently.
The days of couples compromising on their mattress firmness are over. Build your Beyosa bed today.
